I didn’t really like posting on Twitter/X or Instagram or Facebook because I’ve always felt that I don’t “own” whatever it is I put in there, and it becomes really difficult to move away, or redesign, or organize things.
I do appreciate the benefits of being able to jot down my thoughts (the ones fit for public consumption anyway 😉) whenever the inspiration comes, and I saw an article about how the WordPress app seems to be up to such a task.
So I thought maybe I’ll try self hosting my own WordPress instance and put that under cloudflare for cdn caching. I don’t mind if it does go down; I have my other blogs for posterity purposes.
I guess this is also a good staging ground for any kind of ideas I’d like to eventually polish and write about. I haven’t really been publishing much on those other blogs due to the friction present in trying to get an article up.
Yes it’s cheap fast and free, but it’s really inconvenient. Whereas this WordPress install is kinda slow, but the app makes it really easy to add a photo from the phone and just hammer away at the words.
