Just like wordpress, it’s not that I can’t do the installation myself but more like it’s convenient and it’s mostly the same things I would do anyway, so might as well just take a look at a script someone else wrote )and do a cursory check) and use that instead.
Re: readeck it seems like a good idea and being self hosted I can be sure the stuff I save won’t be lost when the host service goes away (I’m looking at you Google Reader).
