I finally pulled the trigger and got myself a z370m matx Mobo for the i7 8700t cpi that was in my old m720q 1l tiny PC from Lenovo.
At first the thing wouldn’t post. Then I found out I was using rdimms (not sure why I still had those) and after replacing them with some crucial 3200 16gb ddr4 non-ecc ram it finally posted!
I put the whole thing in an 8-bay nas case and ran proxmox + virtualized unRAID on it. Works well!
I’ve also been playing around with automatic ssl via acme. I wanted to use https domains for my network devices even if they’re only accessible via tailscale. It was quite the nice experience.
